PU Cement in commercial bakery
Simon and his team at Impact Surface Solutions recently completed this floor reinstatement for a large Commercial Bakery on the Gold Coast a couple of weeks ago. We replaced the failed epoxy coating with a PU Cement system.
We asked Simon a few questions about the project they completed.

What is PU Cement flooring?
Simon says – PU (polyurethane) cement flooring is a type of industrial flooring known for its durability, chemical resistance, and thermal shock resistance. It is commonly used in environments where hygiene, safety, and durability are paramount, such as food and beverage processing facilities, pharmaceutical plants, commercial kitchens, and laboratories.
Why is PU cement flooring a good choice for commercial and industrial spaces?
Simon says – PU (polyurethane) cement flooring offers several advantages that make it a popular choice for commercial and industrial spaces:
Durability: PU cement flooring is highly durable and can withstand heavy foot traffic, impact from machinery, and abrasion from equipment. This durability ensures that the flooring can maintain its integrity and appearance even in demanding environments.
Chemical Resistance: PU cement flooring is resistant to a wide range of chemicals, including acids, alkalis, oils, and solvents. This makes it suitable for environments where spills and chemical exposure are common, such as laboratories, manufacturing plants, and food processing facilities.
Hygiene: PU cement flooring is seamless and non-porous, preventing the growth of bacteria, mold, and fungi. This makes it easy to clean and sanitize, ensuring a hygienic environment. It is often used in healthcare facilities, commercial kitchens, and pharmaceutical plants where cleanliness is critical.
Thermal Shock Resistance: PU cement flooring can withstand rapid temperature changes without cracking or delaminating. This makes it suitable for environments where hot and cold temperatures are encountered, such as industrial kitchens, freezer rooms, and manufacturing facilities.
Safety: PU cement flooring can be customized to meet specific safety requirements, such as slip resistance and anti-static properties. This helps prevent accidents and injuries in the workplace, making it a safe choice for commercial and industrial spaces.
Fast Installation: PU cement flooring can be installed relatively quickly compared to other flooring options. This minimizes downtime and disruption to operations, allowing businesses to resume normal activities sooner.
